April 15 & 17 – Hagen History Center Docent Training for Volunteers

Hagen History Center will reopen to the public in July. Docents (Guides) will be a vital part of making an inspirational experience for our guests. Docents will provide tours at pre-scheduled times across 18 galleries in 4 buildings.
Docent/Guide training will begin with an introduction to the program and the exciting new exhibits. Attendees will be given an in-depth tour of HHC, written materials on the history of the buildings and exhibits on our campus, as well as engaging stories about the people featured in the exhibits. All will receive a docent/guide shirt, name tag and lanyard and a free membership to the HHC. After training is completed, all candidates will conduct a mock tour with the Museum Educator and Executive Director, then upon satisfactorily completing this shall be considered an active docent/guide. Docents/guides should be willing and physically able to stand for extended periods and be able to climb stairs.
